Road Bike Source is about “All Road Bike, All The Time”. The road bike is one of the most efficient means of transportation and exercise available. Millions of people ride for exercise, camaraderie, competition, and leisure.
Who Am I
My name is Mark, AKA “Road Bike Guy”. I am nearing my mid forties and have been riding a road bike for the better part of twenty years. I was a runner in high school/college and for a number of years after that but I switched to cycling after I started getting stiff and sore from running. My first real road bike was a 1987 Panasonic Dx-3000, which I used for over seventeen years until I got my 2004 Specialized Allez Elite. I now ride a 2008 Cannondale Synapse 3 with Ultegra components. I ride as much as I can, about 5-7 hours most weeks. I have done nearly 20 centuries in the last 4 years and have even done some criterium racing (definitely fun but to much injury risk for me right now). I may do crits again but my current focus is on riding for fun and training for longer rides (metric and regular centuries). I ride with a group on Sundays and Wednesdays but enjoy the freedom I have while riding by myself as well. I am slightly addicted to watching Pro cycling, even with all of the drug scandles, and I enjoy getting out to watch local races when I can.
Why Am I Doing This?
I’ve decided to start this blog/site as a way for me to write about my experiences as a “roadie” and to provide a way for other road bike lovers to benefit from each other’s experiences. I will discuss my training and riding experiences, review equipment and accessories, and generally talk about whatever I want as long as it remotely related to cycling, especially road cycling. This site will hopefully be growing on a regular basis as I add new features and resources. Stay tuned and please let me know of any suggestions, tips, or rants that you have. I can be reached at mark@roadbikesource.com
